Minister Tamekia Hunter Ross (a/k/a "Minister T") is a proud 1992 graduate of Sumter High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science/Pre-Law from Francis Marion University in 1996. She has more than 30 years of experience in the legal field as a Paralegal. After spending 20 years as a Paralegal, "Minister T" accepted a career transition in 2017. Currently she works in Columbia, South Carolina at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel Law Firm as their Intake Process Manager and Front Office Supervisor.

In November 2014, "Minister T" graduated from the Sonship School of the First Born under the leadership of the Late Bishop Nate Holcomb and The Christian House of Prayer (Killeen, Texas). Subsequently, she received a Certificate of License and Ordination in February 2015. She serves as one of the Associate Ministers of Victory Church under the leadership of Pastor Terrence Murrill and Executive Pastor Shaunya Murrill. Tamekia loves her church family and enjoys serving in the ministry representing the Kingdom of God.

Tamekia is a living testament to God's grace, mercy, and power within us. She travels every three weeks to the City of Hope (f/k/a Cancer Treatment Centers) in Newnan, Georgia for ongoing chemotherapy treatment for Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. While battling and fighting for her life daily, God gives her the strength to get through 12-hour days of commuting to and from work, coming home to be a full-time wife and mother, mentoring her BREASTies, and overseeing her non-profit, Faith Strong. You will often hear Tamekia say, "I don't look like what I am going through!"

Tamekia is a native and current resident of Sumter, South Carolina. She is married to Arnteyus "Al Ross and a mother to her two sons, Cameron and Caleb. Together Tamekia and AJ have a blended family of seven children and a grandson. She is the daughter, the baby, and only girl of Maggie Sumter Hunter and the late John Henry Hunter. She is blessed to have three older brothers: Rodney, Marvin, and Sean.

In her spare time, you may find Tamekia "clearance shopping" for shoes, handbags and accessories that are inspired by her former Glam boutique business in Greenville, South Carolina. She loves shopping for and wearing sequins, lots of bling, rhinestones or animal print. Every day is a special occasion to her, and she needs no reason or event to look her best. She refuses to look like what she physically goes through in her body.

"Daily, "Minister T" declares God's word„ "Daughter (Tamekia), your Faith has healed you from Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. Go in peace and be free of your disease". On her bad days, she reminds herself of what God promised her, "This sickness (Metastatic Breast Cancer) will not end in death, but it is so the son of God, Jesus Christ, will be glorified."

As a result of the pain of her second diagnosis in 2018, Tamekia found her purpose and established the Faith StrongBREASTies Support Group. Her God-given vision allows her to bless others and witness to them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ as she travels her stage IV breast cancer journey. God has placed her on local and national platforms to include appearing on Live with Kelly and Ryan, a national talk show. God favored "Minister T" to have her name spoken in places that even landed her a relationship with gospel recording artist Pastor Shirley Caesar, who endorsed her book, High Heels in Low Places.

Faith Strong is a nonprofit that has served over a hundred women impacted by Breast Cancer throughout the United States. Breast Cancer is just a platform that "Minister T" uses to give Glory to God and draw people closer to Jesus because we were created to be Faith Strong!
