Our Mission

The mission of Faith Strong is to provide relational, emotional, and spiritual support to breast cancer Thrivers, Survivors, and METAvivorswhile advocating and educating our community about breast cancer.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,can define their future, and can change the world.

Our History

Faith Strong was founded and established in December 2018 by Minister Tamekia Hunter Ross (Founder) and Tammey Davis Patterson (Co-Founder).  These two METAvivors was divinely connected by God after both being diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer Fall 2018.  They expanded their circle with two BREASTies and they began to meet weekly for dinner every Friday to encourage each other through their breast cancer journeys. One evening while having dinner at Hickory Tavern, Tamekia shared with her BREASTies the vision she received from the Holy Spirit to start a spiritual based support group so they can expand their circle and start serving and ministering others through the word of God as a demonstration of God’s love for us despite the diagnosis.

Faith Strong was formed and established as an LLC with less than 10 BREASTies when they launched in 2019. Faith Strong has been known for a Walk at Dillon Park, making house visits, hospital visits to BREASTies and even delivering care packages while serenading their BREASTies.   Since then, Faith Strong has served and ministered over 100 women locally and nationally throughout the United States.  In October 2021, with the financial support  and guidance of one of their community partners and Sponsors, Jason T. Mahoney and Crafted to Motivate, LLC, Faith Strong became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and enhanced their services, marketing and technology to be more effective. Crafted to Motivate, LLC assisted Faith Strong Founders with designing their logo, website, a commercial, and putting pertinent technology in place to be effective to the BREASTies in communication and gathering information through their BREASTies participant agreement.  In addition to helping Faith Strong create their brand, together with the Founders and Crafted to Motivate, LLC  founded and created Pink in the City and later Miss Faith Strong.

Faith Strong is known for its annual signature event and fundraiser, Pink in the City, which launched October of 2022 and is usually held the first Saturday in October.  Funds raised from this event helps Faith Strong provide services to BREASTies both locally and nationally who register as a BREASTie Participant.  Since launching Pink in the City in 2022, Faith Strong later launched a second fundraiser event in 2024, “Jazzy Shades of Pink”, that was developed by their current support group coordinators, Keisha Woodward Anderson, Jemaine Bankhead (Deceased), and Tracey Dunn Cooper. The funds from this fundraiser held in the Spring, covers the costs and expenses for the BREASTies annual fall weekend retreat.

Faith Strong is very grateful for their Sponsors, Crafted to Motivate, LLC and Victory Church who has been very instrumental in financially supporting the ministry over the years. In addition to these sponsors, they are grateful to the numerous community partners and individuals who have sown into this ministry to be a blessing to those impacted by Breast Cancer.
